Additional history from previous game: In the city of Otokoyo Raki met up with Clare again, after seven long years of separation. They had some brief time together, getting used to each other once more - since he'd aged and grown so much, it changed their dynamic a little, although Clare was still very protective of him. Raki was also the first person 'Taken', which lead to more protectiveness. Additionally, he became acquainted with characters from various other series: Trucy Wright, Rika Furude, Claire Stanfield, James T. Kirk, Tatsuki Arisawa & Orihime Inoue, and even Galatea from the same world as he and Clare.

Personality:
Considering how crazy his life has been, Raki has remained fairly 'normal'. When you get right down to cases all he wants out of life is to spend quality time with the people he cares about and to have a bit of fun with them in doing so. Unfortunately for this pleasant daydream, Life has a way of royally screwing with the poor kid.

Having seen his family killed by the demons that infest his world, Raki has a tendency to latch onto new people who show him anything he perceives as kindness to replace the people he's lost. He's very warmhearted by nature and doesn't like to be on his own. You'll never be rid of him, not as long as he lives, because Raki is very stubborn when it comes to giving up on people. Clare, on several occasions prior to their forced parting, had attempted to get Raki's younger self to leave her for a life among humans, believing it better for him, but he refused every time, because she'd saved him and that was enough for him to worship every speck of sand she'd ever stood on. For the past seven years he's been calmly keeping an eye out for return, despite being told that it was unlikely she was still alive; she'd made him a promise, and Raki isn't the type to doubt the word of anybody precious to him, no matter how far-fetched or impossible that promise might end up. If you're somebody he cares about, then he'll do whatever he can to take care of you; he won't give up on someone he loves, no matter what.

This intensely caring side of him can lead Raki into life-threatening situations, which he dealt with as a child by bawling his eyes out in terror and doing something courageously stupid as best he could. After separating from Clare, Raki began the process of growing up, slowly but surely becoming more reliable; no doubt this was in part due to his natural want to help and protect people. Meeting up with Isley and Priscilla and seeing their relationship reminded him that, in order to be worthy of standing at Clare's side without causing her worry, he had to man up and become as strong as he could for her. Raki's resolve is unwavering once he's made up his mind about something - not even Isley swinging a huge sword at his head to test him could make him quail.

These days he's much more level-headed, wiser and more experienced, but will still be reckless in order to save, help or protect someone. As far as he's concerned his own personal safety is nothing near important. For the sake of his friends - the only family he has left to him now - Raki will be braver than a lion and as strong as an ox. Raki can also be pretty random, utilising what would probably be 'shock tactics' for anybody else who'd thought that far into him (such as yelling into a guy's face to stop impending hysterics and/or the beginning of a lynch mob) but for Raki are just how he reacts to things. He'll lie or dissemble to try and avoid confrontation or other unpleasantness, despite basically being an honest person.

Additionally, he can come across as quite naive, possibly just out of sheer hope that everything will work out as pleasantly as he can imagine. The past seven years he's spent living in the house of one of the greatest demon 'lords', and Isley took on an almost fatherly role for him. Even when Raki discovered his mentor's true identity, he didn't leave the household, choosing to stay and learn from the older man - after all, Isley had yet to turn his demonic side on the youth.

On the same note is Priscilla, whom Raki first assumed was a little girl but in reality is a demon even stronger than Isley - and, though he knows it not, the most hated enemy of Clare, the Claymore warrior he's spent seven years searching for. Even knowing what Priscilla is and what she's capable of, Raki still travels with her as if she's his very own little sister, but is prepared to do his best to kill her should he be around her demonic form (as stated in a conversation between himself and a Claymore after he slew a yoma in his old hometown and the woman identified Priscilla's nature). This would most likely end his own life very messily; Raki has long since accepted that fact and steeled himself anyway. Again, his life is a small price compared to the safety of the masses, and since he knows what Priscilla's is capable of he'll take it upon himself to be on the frontline against her.

Regardless of, or perhaps despite of all of these things, Raki's driving motivation is always Clare, as it has been since they first met. He idolises her, though thankfully more in a clingy-younger-male-relative sort of way than a creepy-stalker one. After reuniting with her in the deadly maze of Otokoyo's city he reverted somewhat back to the sometimes-silly boy he'd once been, though this was due to a feeling that he could relax a little - he'd found Clare, and that was the most important goal in his life accomplished. However, he's yet to feel like he's proven his growth to her, and so the new and mature face Raki's grown is only ever a split second away, ready to rise to any challenge presented him with his usual cheer and determination.

Extra:
Character Abilities: Raki's a good and inventive cook, pretty resilient, a pretty damn good swordsman, and has extensive experience hunting Yoma-- big scary-ass demon-type thingies that like to eat people. Apparently he is also a damn fine babysitter.
Possessions: Claiming back his greatsword that he was missing at [livejournal.com profile] letsplayotokoyo!
Anything else: Not that I can think of...

Action/Communication thread/post sample: [A C T I O N;

a tall young man in odd-looking armour is wandering curiously but only slightly cautiously around the spawn entrance point. He's looking about him with brightly inquisitive eyes, one hand over his shoulder to rest on the hilt of a greatsword sheathed there. As he continues to walk his expression slowly grows more and more pensive.

Eventually he gets back the entrance and-- begins to climb it, grunting until he's all the way on the roof. He squints against the sun, shading his eyes with one hand as he catches his breath.]

All right, Clare. Where do I find you this time?
